In its debut edition, the Manial Palace Music Festival will light up Cairo’s historic Manial Palace’s Golden Hall between 1 and 9 November.

The five evenings comprise a total of eight unique concerts, featuring the renowned Egyptian musicians whose careers flourished internationally in additional to a number of international artists.

Something Else — Off Biennale

A Visual Art event organised by Darb 1718. The Biennale opened on 1 November 2018 and runs until 15 December 2018.

Curated by Simon Nijami, with artistic direction from Moataz Nasr, the biennale includes over 90 artists from Egypt and around the world.

Alongside the visual art exhibition running through 45 days, this year’s programme presents over 10 international and Egyptian performances. In parallel, a series of talks by educators, art experts and artists create a conducive environment for discussions and critical thinking.

Cultograph contributes to Something Else — Off Biennale with media support as well as a workshop titled “Grant-writing for Artists” held by Ati Metwaly, Cultograph’s founder. Check the facebook event here

Cairo Celebration Choir and The Ayoub Sisters

Egypt’s award-winning Cairo Celebration Choir (CCC) teamed up with internationally renowned UK classical Egyptian/Scottish artists, The Ayoub Sisters, in a concert which took place on Saturday 12 May 2018 at at The Marquee in Cairo Festival City.

Founded in 2000 by the choir’s artistic director, maestro Nayer Nagui, the CCC consists of over 120 members representing over seven nationalities, from various backgrounds and professions.

The choir won the Silver Award for Stylish Interpretation of Arabic Music in the “Prague Voices” choir competition in the Czech Republic, and in 2016 earned the Silver Award Diploma in the category of Folklore with Accompaniment at the World Choir Games in Sochi, Russia.

Since their debut at the Royal Albert Hall in 2016, the Egyptian-Scottish duo, The Ayoub Sisters, have taken the international music scene by storm.

The Ayoub Sisters were Global Award nominees and winners of the Infinitime Music and Young Scot Awards. Their virtuosity and creativity have taken them to many prestigious halls in the UK (the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, London Palladium) and the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
